Introducing Mangatu
Mangatu manages ancestral lands on behalf of their shareholders in a way that ensures sustainable growth of shareholder assets. Over the years we have evolved our activities to take full advantage of the natural resources of Te Tairāwhiti and have established interests in the Agribusiness, Food Processing and Forestry sectors.
As a result Mangatu now manages:
12,000 hectares of productive farm land
8,500 hectares of exotic forest
15,000 hectares of indigenous forest
Māori Incorporation
Mangatu is a Māori Incorporation – a structure similar to a company but established to facilitate and promote the use and administration of Māori freehold land on behalf of the owners. Māori incorporations are intended to manage whole blocks of land and are some of the most commercial types of Māori land management structures.
