Jacob has more than twenty years experience as a policy advisor on primary sector and Maori agribusiness issues. His areas of expertise include topical issues for the Incorporation, such as climate change / Emissions Trading Scheme, electricity, telecommunications, forestry, energy and resources, and property rights issues more broadly.

He also has experience in issues that include international trade policy, freshwater management, biodiversity protection, and Maori land law.

Jacob has served on the Committee of Management since 2014. He also serves on sub-committees tasked with progressing Mangatu’s interests in the WAI 274 claim, and the consideration and selection of recipients for Mangatu and Mangatu/Ravensdown tertiary scholarships every year.
